Job Summary: The Corporate
Dealer – Global Markets will provide an ongoing efficient and effective service
to a portfolio of Retail clients with the aim of maximizing the global markets
product turnover and profitability thereof.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The jobholder will achieve turnover and
    profit targets aligned to the overall Treasury objective
  • Weekly activity reports – daily call
    lists, meetings, entertainment
  • Accuracy and MIS reporting including data
    mining of information to pro actively measure success rates with client
  • Maintain a “work in progress” pipeline and
    a client priority call list including new and existing clients
  • Understand client exposures to treasury
    products, their budgets, benchmark hedging policies and regular (i.e.
    dividends) and irregular (i.e. capital investment) treasury flows and what
    is the clients view.
  • Ensure the customers are aware of the
    latest product developments as well as what is happening on the
    international and local front and inform the customer what our
    expectations are for the market.
  • Provide a high level of service and advice
    to a portfolio of clients.
  • Maximise customer treasury product
    turnover by quoting competitive rates on a consistent basis.
  • Maximise revenue from clients business
    without taking on market risk.
  • On an ongoing basis; advise customers on
    various methods of hedging their forex exposures by way of forward
    exchange and/or derivatives.
  • Improve the Bank’s relationship with
    customers whenever the opportunity presents itself, cross sell the Group’s
    treasury products and capabilities
  • Follow the prescribed procedures when
    dealing and adhere to the ACI code of conduct.
  • Business Development and networking
    internally and externally
  • Keep up to date with current global
    developments, including economical & political
  • Assemble, disseminate and distribute
    economic news
  • Continually self develop



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Stanbic Bank
    Corporate Dealer – Global Markets job opportunity should hold a tertiary
    qualification with an appropriate business related degree or diploma
  • ACI Dealing Certificate or to be
    successfully completed within 3 months
  • Understand the principles and practice of
    foreign exchange operations.
  • Treasury experience in the fields of: Spot
    foreign exchange, Forward foreign exchange, Deposits/arbitrage,
    Derivatives (Not a pre requisite)
  • Where applicable, understanding the basics
    of Exchange Control
  • General Banking background
  • Full understanding of domestic and
    international economics and other factors that affect treasury products
  • Have an up to date knowledge of current
    affairs both local and abroad
  • Marketing techniques i.e. how to win the
    confidence of the client
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of market ethics according
    to the ACI code of conduct
  • A good appreciation and knowledge of Risk
    Management, covering Operational Risk, Market Risk, Counterparty Risk and
    Credit Risk
  • Mathematically inclined and computer
    literacy
  • Understanding the basics of Exchange
    Control
  • General Banking background
  • Full understanding of domestic and
    international economics and other factors that affect treasury products
  • Have an up to date knowledge of current
    affairs both local and abroad
  • Good communication and presentation skills
