About US:
Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) is a national
non-government organization (NGO) which was founded in 1986 by Ugandan mothers
committed to providing relief aid to needy children left parentless by the
civil turbulence of the mid-1980’s and the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The Project Officer will mainly ensure
    implementation of projects in the region according to donor
    specifications, organisation policies and procedures.
  • Tasked with periodic reporting on progress
    of activities in the region.
  • Conduct advocacy and resource mobilization
    activities in order to increase support of the organization in improving
    the quality of service of the projects.
  • Ensure the implementation of projects
    according to set targets and specifications.
  • Build the capacity of different
    stakeholders to respond to OVC issues.



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
    Degree in Community Psychology, Social Work and Social Administration,
    Business Administration, Project Planning & Management or any other
    related field.
  • At least three years’ experience working
    with community-based projects.
  • Previous exposure and experience in
    Monitoring and supervision of the project team.
  • Knowledge of social economic strengthening
    environment.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of OVC
    programming is required.
  • Ability and willingness to ride a motorcycle
    (Valid riding permit)
  • Willing to reside within the area of
    jurisdiction after appointment
  • Age: Above 30 years
