Refugee Council (NRC)
organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more
dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for
the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter,
education, emergency food security, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and
hygiene sectors.
Assistant is responsible for follow up of shelter activities at the various
locations where NRC operates.
Responsibilities:
- Regularly monitor and report on the
project activities and ensure compliance with plans and NRC standards - The incumbent will mobilize communities
and community leaders for the building materials, construction activities
and maintenance of structures - Suggest new methods and approaches in
order to improve the quality of the activities - The jobholder will also administrate
payment requests for partners, contractors, suppliers, construction
workers etc. - Report all protection related concerns
- Conduct data collection as required
- Prepare and file relevant documents
according to procedures
Experience:
- The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee
Council (NRC) Project Assistant – Shelter job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s
degree in a relevant field - Previous exposure and experience from
working with shelter projects in a humanitarian/recovery context - At least three years of previous
experience from working in complex and volatile contexts - Documented results related to the
position’s responsibilities - Knowledge about own skills/profile
