provides modern medical care. Mengo Hospital provides comprehensive care
including radiology, obstetrics, dentistry, orthopedics, and surgery.
Additionally, Mengo Hospital provides critical training and education to health
professionals through its various programs in midwifery and nursing, health
sciences, and laboratory technology. Mengo Hospital also has a dedicated
research and development team that works to find new solutions to health issues
in Uganda.
Assistant will provide professional reception and administrative support
services to the hospital and work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant
interruption without losing concentration or attention to detail, deal with
emergency situations in a calm, efficient and prompt manner; showing an
excellent sense of initiative and discretion.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will be tasked with booking patients
for Consultants as they visit and call. - Register and verify patients in the system
- Keep front desk tidy and presentable with
all necessary stationery material availed - Be able to follow up patient calls
- Tasked with answering questions and
address complaints from visitors - Answer all incoming calls and redirect
them to the right recipients and keep messages - Receive letters, packages etc. and
distribute them accordingly - Prepare outgoing mail by drafting
correspondence. - Check, sort and forward emails
- Keep updated records and files of patients
before archival - Ensure the cleanliness of the patient
waiting area
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Front Desk
Assistant job opportunity should preferably hold a good Diploma in
Secretarial Studies or relevant course to reception management; - Experienced in the use of office machines
(e.g. fax, printer etc.) - Extensive knowledge of office management
and basic bookkeeping - Proficient in English (oral and written),
knowledge of French, Swahili is an added advantage - Excellent knowledge of MS Office
(especially Excel and Word) - Excellent communication skills,
organizational and multi-tasking abilities - Good problem-solving skills and possess a
customer service orientation approach.
