part of the response and in particularly to coordinate teams analysing and
responding to needs emerging due to 1) the current drought and food crisis and
2) displacement of thousands of South Sudanese, fleeing the conflict in their
country and seeking refuge in Northern Uganda.
Manager will primarily be responsible for logistical support to HI activities
in Arua and the follow up of all HI procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Tasked with team management
- In charge of purchase management
- Responsible for stocks management
- Tasked with vehicle management and
movements - IT and equipment management
- Premises management
- Training / reporting
- Participate in the weekly team
coordination meetings; - Participate in the Arua programs strategy
planning; - Ensure the strict application of the
rules; - Report any incident in which s/he’s
involved immediately;
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Handicap
International Logistics Manager job opportunity must hold a professional
diploma or university degree in a Logistics field - One year of experience in a similar
position - Previous experience with an NGO
- Previous experience in emergency response
is appreciated - Possess advanced IT knowledge (hardware
and software, Microsoft Office, Internet) - Extensive knowledge of international
humanitarian response and development work - Excellent written and spoken English
- Ability to work in an inter cultural
environment - Flexibility, Responsive, motivated, good
communicator - Ability to work under pressure
- Good management skills
- Personal qualities
- Calm, structured, organized.
