over the financial services business of Uganda Finance Trust Limited (MDI).
Finance Trust Bank is a fully-fledged commercial bank serving a clientele of
over 400,000 depositors and over 23,000’ borrowers, through a network of 36
branches countrywide. The bank offers a variety of Products and services
including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services and Bills
payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium
entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.
Bancassurance will oversee the Bancassurance unit and ensure smooth integration
into the general bank business while adding value to the business.
Responsibilities:
- The jobholder will also evaluate each
product offering in partnership with insurance companies in terms of
pricing, product features, regulatory requirements, product related
queries, customer needs, process flows, procedures and systems etc. - Grow the Bancassurance product line,
develop and implement strategies to increase sales in line with the
Business Development plan/budget. - The jobholder will understand and manage risks related
to the product line by ensuring that all activities and duties are
conducted within the compliance and regulatory requirements/framework of
the Bank. - Create awareness of the Bancassurance
offering within the bank through roadshows and training across all teams
to create confidence amongst the teams to use and sell the product. - The incumbent will also identify training
needs, develop and approve training material on Bancassurance products to
address specific gaps on Bancassurance, ensure skill assessments and
competency-based training - Keenly monitor and manage the performance
and development of staff in the unit, and conduct mid-year and final
performance appraisals. - Manage the development of system
requirements, and changes to ensure that the business requirements are met
and all developments are done in accordance with the overall product plan. - Develop system specifications for the
product and relevant enhancements and conduct system testing of all
enhancements related to the Bancassurance product line.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Finance Trust
Bank (FTB) Manager Bancassurance should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in a business
related field preferably in Finance and accounting from a recognized
University. - Possession
of a Certificate in insurance with knowledge in the Insurance Act of
Uganda 2011. - Hold
a Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute from the UK or
equivalent. - At
least four years’ experience in insurance in the areas of underwriting
claims, Finance and Regulation. - Broad
knowledge and experience in the insurance services industry specifically
insurance and retail banking - Broad
working knowledge of both life insurance and short term insurance - Working
knowledge of insurance legislation and regulations. - Broad
understanding of Insurance and Banking operating systems. - Computer
literacy skills i.e. excellent at Excel, word and power point. - Good
financial, budgeting and accounting skills.
