About Compassion Project:
Bukedi Diocese (Anglican) Church of Uganda carries out Christ’s work of
teaching, preaching, healing and nurturing her people. They are currently
working in partnership with Compassion International in the Ministry of
Nurturing Poor Children, and releasing them from poverty in Jesus name.
Job Summary: The Child
Development Officer (CDO) will take responsibility of the child survival
program. She/he is a team member and must exhibit high sense of integrity,
He/she is one of the church staff members in the local church, he /she is
working with.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Be a Christian role model for children and
    their families.
  • Act as an advocate for children
  • Be creative and innovative in the whole
    area of child Development
  • Tasked with documentation, record
    keeping/filling of child and mother issues
  • Ensuring children are in safe, nurturing
    environment at the project as well as at home.
  • In charge of child health monitoring and
    maintenance



  • Promote health education for both child
    and mother.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a Diploma in Medicine Science, Social Work and Social Administration,
    Social Sciences, Development Studies, Education and other disciplines from
    recognized Universities/Institutions.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in
    related fields (Medical officer/Nurse Discipleship, Children Ministry,
    Involvement in Mission and Ministry).
  • Child Development programming for an
    assigned age group
  • Working knowledge of basic NGO accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both
    orally and in writing in English, Ateso or Lugwere.
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Age: Between 21—35 years
