international University first established in 1983, with 11 campuses and
teaching sites in 8 countries. The University is a non-denominational
institution open to all, irrespective of religion, ethnicity, gender or
national origin. Since 2001, AKU has offered academic programmes in nursing,
medicine and education for and in countries in East Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support and any
assistance as may be required by the Faculty - The Executive Assistant will be organising
college meetings chaired by the academic head - Send both internal and external
communications - Arrange travel and accommodation
- Tasked with reimbursements
- Filling and other office related work
- Organise and maintain diaries and making
appointments of the Academic Head - In charge of the requisition of stock
items and stationery - Responsible for petty cash management
- In charge of all follow-ups
- Tasked with organising activities in the
academic heads office - The incumbent will attend to telephone
calls, take and convey messages and also maintain constant communication
with students on various programmes related matters - Perform any other tasks as may be assigned
by the Academic Head
Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in Office Management/Secretarial/other relevant field - At least five years’ experience in a
senior office management and secretarial role - Computer literacy skills with proficiency
in applicable software programs - Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication and organisational
skills
