Database Administrator will be responsible for the performance, integrity and
security of Centenary Bank’s database systems running on Oracle 12C, Microsoft
SQL and Sybase. The person holding this position will also be involved in the
planning and development of the database, as well as troubleshooting any issues
on behalf of the users.
Responsibilities:
- Establishing Database needs of users and
monitoring Database user access and security. - Perform the Bank’s Database Infrastructure
monitoring and management of Database parameters to provide fast responses
to front-end users; - In charge of mapping out the conceptual
design for a planned database. - Tasked with refining the Database
Management logical design so that it can be translated into a specific
data model. - Responsible for Data housekeeping and
refining the physical design for DBMS to meet system storage requirements. - Charged with installing and testing new
versions of the DBMS - Responsible for writing database
documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for
the data dictionary (metadata). - Responsible for controlling access
permissions and privileges. - Responsible for developing, managing and
testing back-up and recovery plans. - Responsible for ensuring that storage and
archiving procedures are functioning correctly - Working in liaison with IT project
managers, database programmers and multimedia programmers. - Communicating regularly with technical,
applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security. - Responsible for commissioning and
installing new applications and customizing existing applications in order
to make them fit for purpose. - Responsible for managing system software
managing the DBMS this include AIX, Windows and Linux.

job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information
Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering
and Statistics. - At least four years of related work
experience in Database Administration with a reputable organization. - Possession of Microsoft Certified Solutions
Associate(MCSA): SQL 2012/2014/2016 Database Administrator certification
is desirable. - Oracle Database 12c Administrator
Certified Associate (OCA) Certificate or Training is preferred. - Experience is managing myql and Postgre is
an added advantage. - Broad knowledge and understanding of Apps
tech architecture, 12.2 features, ad utilities, online patching, cloning,
upgrades, troubleshooting skills, concurrent processing, Install and
autoconfig. - Advanced skills – PCP, JVM architecture,
Load balancing, OAM, Workflow, sysadmin, SSO integration. - Expertise in core areas viz. Performance
tuning, Backup & Recovery is needed. - Technical expertise in Upgrades,
Migrations, Integrations, Configuration and builds of Oracle and Ms SQL
Applications. - Previous experience with RMAN for taking
daily hot backups. - Advanced skills – PCP, JVM architecture,
Load balancing, OAM, Workflow, sysadmin, SSO integration. - Programming background (ASP.NET, VB.NET
and C#) is an added advantage - Skills in Windows Server, AIX, Linux, IIS,
HTML, XML, Visual Basic, ASP.Net - Additional training and networking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills
