Principal Investigator
Frontieres (MSF) in 1987 to help improve the quality of its field
interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre has been a World Health Organization (WHO)
collaborating centre for research in epidemiology and response to emerging
diseases. Epicentre’s work hinges around three main activity areas: clinical
research, field epidemiology and training.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will coordinate the
submission of the study protocols to ethics and other necessary regulatory
bodies - Organise and coordinate the site
assessment and selection - Actively participate in the recruitment
and training of the project human resources - Elaborate the country project plan and
time frame - Ensure that all manuals, Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP) and forms are available on site. - Oversee the project progresses according
to the project plan - Ensure that the project is implemented
following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) - Ensure that quality assurance procedures
for clinical and laboratory assessment, and for data management are in
place - Organise the bi-annual project country
committee - Organise the country project
communication/ advocacy activities with support from the communication
officer and the national TB program
Experience:
- The Senior Research Assistant should hold
a Master’s degree in Public Health, International health or Epidemiology. - Additional training in project management
is an added advantage. - Additional training in Good Clinical
Practice - At least two years working experience in
clinical research in limited resource countries. - Extensive knowledge of ICH guidelines,
GCP, and the clinical trial study process - Ability to work effectively in teams as
well as independently - Flexible for regular travel to study sites
within the country - Excellent verbal and written communication
skills
