problems and needs. LWF Uganda currently has five areas of operation in Pader,
Kitgum, Adjumani, Katakwi, Sembabule, Kampala and Kamwenge Districts.
Officer for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) will primarily ensure that the
project programs are implemented effectively, professionally, and in accordance
with the culture and practices of the local population.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Lutheran World
Relief (LWR) Project Officer for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) job
opportunity should hold a University
degree in civil engineering, hydrology or a related technical field; - Possession
of an advanced degree in the technical field of water supply, sanitation
or public health will be an added value; - At
least five years of professional management and implementation experience
in the field of water and environment; - Previous
experience in emergencies and regular programs in water supply, sanitation
and hygiene promotion; - Extensive
knowledge of the latest developments and technology in low cost
sanitation, hygiene promotion and capacity building; - The
position requires that one spends a large portion of their working time in
the field and thus ability to work, travel and live in relatively
difficult environment is desired; - Teamwork: Works collaboratively
with colleagues to achieve organizational goals; solicits input by
genuinely value willing to learn from others. - Planning & Organizing:
Strong organizational skills including proven ability to plan and
coordinate own work as well as that of others, and to work under tight
deadlines; identifies priority activities and assignments and adjust
priorities based on exigency
