The Education Service Commission (ESC) is established by article 167

Job Summary: The Principal
Education Officer/ Technical Education will participate in offering technical
support to education and training institutions on matters of policy and
regulations.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Initiate policies, programmes, projects
and proposals for development of Technical Education; - Co-ordinate, oversee and advise on staff
development and curriculum of Technical Institutions to ensure high
performance standards and responsiveness to industrial market demands; - The incumbent will als0 facilitate the
provisions and distribution of financial resources, basic tools, and
materials to Technical Institutions; - Co-ordinate the preparation of budgets for
capital Development and Block Grants for industrial training; - Coordinate, training and development of
staff to maintain the Technical Institutions and to advise on their
appropriate deployment; - Build and strengthen linkages with private
sector and other stakeholders on the provision of requisite skills and
development of Technical Education; - Guide on the requirements of establishing
new public and private Technical Institutions.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technical Education or any vocational
discipline; - Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in
Management or Technical related field; - Registered with the Ministry of Education
and Sports; - A minimum of six years of related
experience, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Senior
Officer in the field of Education.
