Uganda
provides a proven mix of a leadership and entrepreneurship course, long-term
mentoring, and practical experience starting an enterprise for secondary school
students. Educate! is working with over 20,000 diverse youth across Uganda,
growing to a staff of 53 in just five years, and has already incorporated its
curriculum into Uganda’s national education system to reach 25,000 students
annually. The organization has received the Ashoka Fellowship and several
international awards and grants, proving out a program model that can be
replicated across Africa.
Coordinator will steer, plan and manage Educate!’s pilots and/or experiments to
inform program innovation and development as we prepare for post 2018. The
incumbent will oversee the design and implementation of Educate! Integrated
program learning and Innovation system through Build Measure Learn loops, lead
strategy of National competitions and coordinate the Internal Advisory, Liaise
with Programs Department to do effective quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead strategy discussions with the Global
Director and Deputy country Director to set Direction for the Pilot or
experiment. - Coordinate with relevant departments to
set the plan for the pilot activities. - Manage the Pilot contractor workload in
relation to pilot or experiment monitoring. - Work closely with Admin on any external
printing and procurement of materials related to the pilot.
- Supervise and coordinate timely and
high-quality implementation of BML loops, ensuring effective coordination
across departments. - Designed and implement training of field
staff on implementation of BML activities, such as - Focus Group Discussions and Interviews
- Supervise entry of quantitative and
qualitative data for the BML loop - Carry out an analysis of quantitative and
qualitative data to inform hypothesis of BML loop
- Coordinate with programs on logistics for
the Internal advisory Board meeting. - Coordinate with admin to streamline and
follow up on all inter-department nationals activities
- Contribute to Quality Assurance Section of
monthly Programs Report. - Coordinate with programs to acquire field
feedback on major program activities - Oversee and ensure that learnings and
monitoring findings are incorporated into program design and management
practices.
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in a relevant field - At least three years of professional
experience in a high paced fast – moving organization. - Previous experience in program management
and program design. Experience working in East African education field
preferred. - Extensive knowledge of Monitoring
&Evaluation is a plus. - Prior exposure and experience in Training
or facilitation skills; coordination of several activities and exceptional
planning and organizational skills
