Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Tasked with developing, formulating,
implementing, and updating risk management policies and procedures - In charge of developing limits and
quantitative ratios that are compatible with the risk assumed by the Bank - Ensuring compliance with Bank of Uganda
(BOU) guidelines - Establishing and maintaining an effective
control system for efficient operations - Scrutinizing the quality of Credit Risk
controls and ensuring conformity with the Bank’s policies and guidelines - The jobholder will be evaluating of
proposed risks to be assumed by the Bank in respect to each exposure - Developing a data bank on industry
analyses/market intelligence and modifying the overall risk profile of the
Bank - Updating the risk profile to be submitted
to the Board on a quarterly basis with findings and recommendations - Make sure there is proper and timely flow
of MIS and control returns as required by the Central Bank, Board and
external agencies and ensuring reliable financial and regulatory reporting - Perform any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Economics and Finance with good grades from a
recognized University. Possession of a Masters’ degree in the related
fields will be an added advantage - Professional qualifications such as ACCA,
CPA, CIA, CIMA - A minimum of five years of banking, audit,
compliance and risk management of financial institutions. - Excellent analytical and problem solving
skills and knowledge of risk analysis systems - Computer literacy i.e. knowledge of MS
office applications - Transfer knowledge and provide guidance to
others and work for long hours without supervision - Excellent interpersonal skills and be able
to work on own initiative and as part of a team - The ideal candidate should be highly
motivated and self-driven - Age: Between 30 – 45 years.
