Oxfam’s areas of intervention include WASH, Emergency Food Security and
Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL), Gender and Protection. Oxfam works with local partners
as a strategy for building humanitarian preparedness and response capacity
within the organisations.
& Protection Officer will oversee the development and implementation of a
gender equality and social inclusion in the emergency response operations in
refugees camps West Nile and to effectively include gender considerations in
all project activities.
Responsibilities:
- The job holder shall provide technical
support to implementing partners and local stakeholders to develop systems
and mechanisms for proper mainstreaming of gender and protection in the
emergency response programs and to prevent, respond to, and resolve the
abuse, neglect and violence experienced by children and women in the
refugee camps. - The jobholder will also manage/apply the
implementation of Oxfam emergency protection and gender principles and standards in the
emergency response operations; - The incumbent will design, adapt,
implement and maintain gender and protection including GBV monitoring
procedures and information systems and, ensure that emergency response
staffs are trained for their data collection and monitoring duties. - Represent Oxfam gender & protection
issues, identifying opportunities to advocate Oxfam’s position on the rights
of the children and women through exchange of information, negotiation and
lobbying.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Oxfam Gender
and Protection Officer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a
