Responsibilities:
- Network monitoring: The
incumbent will monitor network to ensure its functionality and
availability to all users and improve performance. You will install,
maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cabled, wireless and other network
infrastructure and ensure that all network traffic satisfies current
policy. - Computers and desk phones:
You will install, update and repair all computers for users and ensure
computer & Desk phones are allocated for a new hire/ Branch or any
related moves. - ICT Equipment: You
monitor ICT equipment, storage area and server room clean and organized
and offer training to the new staff in the team in accordance with the set
departmental and company policies. - Network Inventory: You
will also maintain company network inventory - Fix network problems: The
incumbent will diagnose and fix problems or potential problems with the
network and its hardware, software and systems
- New applications: The
incumbent will test new applications and provide through feedback before
roll out. - New software and hardware:
The jobholder will also research new software & Hardware that can help
the company - Computer upgrade: The
incumbent will upgrade computers with new software and firmware/ OS. - Updates on ICT trends:
You have to be updated on the latest ICT trends and security measures.
- Assess user capacity and suggest training
and areas in need of improvement. - Create training material and conducting
ICT related training when needed - Mentor and train staff members on how to
use different applications, SN dedicated systems and on general computer
use. - Leverage ICT skills
- Manage Repair vendors:
You will work directly with vendors (ISP and outside vendors) to schedule
repairs and maintenance when needed. You also request and evaluate
services with vendors and service providers. - Voice and data bundles:
You will also requisition for voice and data bundles and monitor the
monthly loading for CUG, HQ and branches. - User accounts and emails:
- You will also setup new user
accounts and email accounts. - You will troubleshoot and
repair user accounts and email accounts; and assist in resetting
passwords and installing new software as required. - You will also maintain
records of software licenses and
- SAS: You create/ pull
out customized reports in SAS, you also make simple modifications to SAS
when needed. - User Accounts:
You will also ensure user accounts are created and maintained. - Server Monitoring: You
ensure that the SN server is up and running; and working in
specifications/ functional requirements. - Database Management: You will
also manage the databases and generate output via SQL
- Disaster Plan tested monthly;
- Approved security audits
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the SolarNow ICT Officer
job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or
Similar field. - At least two years of proven work
experience with applications packages like Linux Scripting, Odoo, Zabbix,
OTRS, WPS - Good track record in managing teams and
working in complex environments with various stakeholders. - Skills and experience in monitoring large
systems in distributed environment. - Excellent organisational skills
- Strong leadership and decision making
skills. - Great IT skills combined with a good head
for business. - Ability to explain complex systems in
simple terms. - Problem solving, communication/listening
skills. - Proactive and takes rational actions;
challenge taker - Result oriented, capable to adapt to a
