Anglican Church engaged in the mission of Jesus Christ in today’s world. The
Church of Uganda is governed by the Provincial Assembly.
Education Services will be responsible for strategic planning, development and
implementation of education programmes in CoU. The incumbent will also
coordinate education services in the Province, network and support improved
education delivery. The jobholder will also ensure the mission and interests of
the Church in Education in her founded Education institutions are met. The
incumbent will enhance theological education and ministerial formation in CoU
Play an advisory role to the Diocesan Education Coordinators and Heads of CoU
Education Institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic planning / guidance and policy
development / implementation of the Education sector - Manage educational programs in CoU
- Partnership(s) building, networking and
advocacy - Ensure proper financial management for
education sector - Responsible for Human Resource development
in CoU - Regularly remind the Church of its roles
and obligation in education as well as keeping her updated on educational
developments in the country - Child support: Solicit scholarships and
ensure equitable distribution across the province - Be the secretary to the Provincial
Education Board and Commissions - Other related duties as maybe assigned
from time to time
Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Master’s degree
in Education, Planning and Management / Human Resource or Theology, B. Education / BA Education / Bsc
Education, Bachelor of Theology or Education Planning and any other
relevant qualification with a PGD in education - A minimum of ten years of relevant work
experience in the respective sector and with at least five years at
managerial level - Previous experience in curriculum
development - Prior exposure and experience in teaching,
training and educational planning - Strong facilitation and group leadership
skills - Experience working with the youth,
schools, business, elected and government officials, interfaith, and/or
community groups - Previous experience in development and
imparting of knowledge and skills to others - Good budget development and monitoring
skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Strategic planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal and English
communication skills (oral & written) - Strong leadership/management and
supervisory skills - Computer literacy skills
- High degree of integrity
- Good team player

& large organisation. - Strong financial and innovative skills.
