Hunger (ACF)
has been in existence for over thirty years. ACF has been implementing Food
Security and Livelihoods, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs in
the Lango, Acholi, West Nile and Karamoja regions of Northern Uganda.
will support specific projects to have quality project information by
collecting, entering, cleaning and analyzing project information at regular
intervals. He/she will also track progress of key indicators and provide timely
report to the Program manager and the M&E officer.
Responsibilities:
- On daily basis, enter nutritional data and
beneficiary lists into databases if needed. - Input the data taken from questionnaires
in a similar format. - Ensure all project beneficiary databases
are captured. - Ensure the quality of data entered through
thorough cleaning. - Determine the time needed for data entry
and keep the immediate supervisor informed of its progress - Occasionally he/she will be required to
participate in the field data collection and report to the immediate
supervisor.
- The jobholder will also derive an
elaborative statistical tables especially using excel pivot, excel analyser,
NVIVO, Access and Publisher. - Sort and cross the data by verifying the
data submitted from the field staff for any error before submission to the
project team and the M&E officers. - Detect missing or redundant data and
propose improvements and clean the entered data if required. - Prepare weekly trend analysis of project
progress.
- File and archive the questionnaires in
hard/paper copy and computer soft/electronic copy of data collected. - Code the beneficiary names and lists
- Save the data entries regularly as well as
the statistical results. - Ensure all beneficiary and other databases
are backed up in one centralised location with the M&E officer.
- Transmit the computerised data to the
monitoring and evaluation officer. - Check the quality of the data to be
entered and report problems encountered. - Focus attention to details of previous
statistical reports and pause queries to field officers where necessary
for immediate corrections.
- The ideal candidate for the Action Against
Hunger (ACF) Data Clerk job placement should hold a Diploma in secretarial
studies, Information Technology, Biostatistics, Records Management or
related disciplines. - One year of field experience in a busy organisational
setting. - Possess advanced computer skills in
Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Power point) - Excellent computer skills, especially
Advanced Excel, Access, Nvivo, SPSS. - Experience in data entry is highly
desirable. - Precision and exactitude.

organisational communication skills - Attention to detail, flexibility and team
working skills. - Good knowledge of English and local
languages in West Nile - Ability keep confidential of information
received - Ability and willingness to ride motorbikes
