URC manages projects in over 45 countries, including the United States.
Strengthening Uganda’s Systems for Treating AIDS Nationally (SUSTAIN) project.
The project supports delivery of quality HIV prevention, treatment, care and
laboratory services at selected regional referral and general hospitals.
Support Manager will give technical and managerial support to ongoing projects
and working on business development. Programs focus on support to the Chief of
Party for SUSTAIN, and other projects managed by URC in Uganda, notably
partnership on CDC and DoD funded projects. Additional components include
public-private partnerships and civil society involvement.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will provide direct support
to Chief of Party of SUSTAIN for documentation of program results,
cross-project coordination and communication, - Coordinate URC’s work under CH2MHill
- Manage URC’s participation in CDC-funded
project in Soroti Region including staff deployment and technical
contributions; coordination with project management team and linking to
URC Global Headquarters - Tasked with ensuring achievement and
documentation of program results - Support efforts for new business
development including developing technical strategies and writing
technical and management inputs to proposals
Experience:
- The applicants for the USAID SUSTAIN
Program Support Manager job opportunity should hold a Master’s degree in
public health (MPH), international relations, or related field. - A minimum of eight years of hand-on
experience in a developing country setting, managing and implementing
relevant public health technical interventions; familiarity with quality
improvement highly desirable; experience with USG, Global Fund, Gates
Foundation or similar donor activities very desirable. - Significant exposure and experience within
two of the following health areas: maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS,
grants to local organizations and performance monitoring - Prior experience in supervision and
managing staff preferred - Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and
written communication skills; high comfort level writing and presenting
data and information in a compelling way to different audiences. - Ability to work effectively and thrive in
a matrix management setting in a fast-paced environment desired - Strong time management and organizational
skills; demonstrated ability to work well independently and in teams
