About US:
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services in Uganda (for people with
disability) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-governmental
organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission). CoRSU
Rehabilitation Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre on Entebbe Road provides
Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children
with disability.
Job Summary: The Teacher (1
position) will deliver rehabilitation services by enhancing children’s
education, their life skills and emotional well-being to ensure functional
literacy, numeracy and basic communication skills while under treatment and
rehabilitation at CoRSU.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Grade III
    Teaching Certificate or the equivalent from a recognized Institution
  • Registered with the Ministry of Education
    and Sports
  • A minimum of three years of related work
    experience
  • Excellent communication and social (inter-personal)
    skills
  • Good instructive skills
  • Good guidance and counselling skills
  • Good child development skills
  • Extensive knowledge of English and at
    least 2 local languages
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures
  • Computer knowledge and skills to help document
    all activities performed in the department
  • Knowledge/ Certificate in Special Needs
    Education is an added advantage
