Social Protection (ESP) Programme
Uganda, through its Programme Management Unit (PMU) is implementing Phase two
(ESPII) of the Expanding Social Protection (ESP) Programme. The goal of ESP is
to reduce chronic poverty and improve life chances for poor men, women and
children in Uganda. The programme aims to embed a national social protection
system, including social assistance for the poorest and most vulnerable, as a
core element of Uganda’s national planning and budgeting processes.
Operations Coordinator will formulate, review and monitor the implementation of
the strategies for the delivery of Senior citizens grants under the ESP II PMU
in line with the Project Plan and Management Policies.
- The incumbent will design and monitor
strategies for the implementation of the delivery of the Direct Income
Support (DIS) programs in the implementing districts in the country - Develop, implement and monitor the Project
strategies, plans, budgets and work plans for the DIS Scheme operations. - Develop, implement and monitor systems for
the management performance regional technical units, cooperating partners
and contracted payment service providers. - Develop, review and monitor the strategies
for the implementation of the DIS financial management and accountability
policies and procedures. - The jobholder will also design and
implement strategies for reviewing and approving requisitions for SAGE
related logistics and procurement. - Design and
implement strategies for the
engagement and collaboration with Project partners and stakeholders in a
bid to build a database for program targeting. - Formulate and implement strategies for or
community mobilization and advocacy for DIS interventions in the region - Develop and implement strategies for
carrying out training, providing technical assistance and developing
capacity of relevant key stakeholders in line with Project guidelines. - Draw and implement strategies for the
management of Performance of business units and staff within his/her area
of jurisdiction.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the ESP Programme SAGE
Operations Coordinator job opportunity must hold an Honours degree in a
Business Management and Social sciences - Possession of a post graduate
qualification in Project Monitoring and evaluation or financial management - Possession of a master’s degree in a
relevant field an added advantage - At least five years’ experience in
community programming or development. - Previous experience working with
governments, non-governmental organizations and/or research institutions,
in Uganda. - Knowledge in managing cash transfer
programs will be preferred
