The Most At Risk Populations (MARPs) Network is a not-for-profit
Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose purpose is “to serve as a platform
for MARPs voices through facilitating coordinated response at national level in
Uganda.”

Job Summary: The Network
Development Team Leader will primarily be responsible for developing MNL’s
membership structure, making it operational, building and maintaining
partnerships. S/he will manage and own MNL’s Advocacy strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Partnerships Management:
- Keenly review, update and operationalise
MNL’s partnership strategy - Build formal and informal networks with
government and non-government partners. - Build and maintain excellent networks and
working relations with partners and stakeholders. - Map existing and potential network members
and research areas of network expansion. - Prepare reports and updates about the
member networks for the executive team. - Create detailed annual, monthly &
weekly plans for advocacy/engagement activities. - Reporting and reviewing success and
challenges to enable swift remedial action - Work in liaison with Monitoring &
Evaluation Officer to evaluate performance and use lessons to refine the
project and disseminate results. - Tasked with preparing problem analysis
framework and identify paths to influence stakeholders and key messages. - Identify new partners to develop new,
holistic and sustainable projects - Facilitate transfer of information from
partners to support advocacy, education and other initiatives.
Network Development:
- In charge of identifying and securing
funding and resource opportunities to support departmental activities. - Coordinate developmental fundraising
activities and events relating to the department. - Assess applications for partnerships in
line with MNL policy and funding criteria, and work with Programmes Team
on negotiating project proposals. - Manage the long term development of grants
and funding for existing and new projects. - Support network events where necessary
including webinars, face to face workshops, Conferences, etc. - Develop and implement MNL’s Programmes and
network Development strategy. - Ensure advocacy activities are properly
budgeted, documented and information is entered or stored effectively to
facilitate effective monitoring and evaluation. - Support and participate in internal and
external audit requirements. - Perform any other duties within the scope,
spirit and purpose of the job Abide by all MNL Policies, Regulations and
Procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Network
Development Team Leader job placement should hold an Undergraduate Degree
in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Sciences, Development
Studies, Education or any other related discipline. - Hold a Master’s degree in Social Sciences
or International Development. - Possession of a Post Graduate diploma in
related discipline is an added advantage. - Ability to work effectively with this
diverse range of stakeholders. - Excellent team player and able to work
well with other teams. - Possession of good managerial skills.
- Previous exposure and experience of
designing, managing and implementing community based projects and budgets
in line with donor requirements. - Demonstrated ability to assess the impact
of community based projects and monitor progress in the field. - Strong analytical skills to monitor
project success and outcomes. - Excellent oral, written and presentation
skills - Excellent interpersonal and communication
skill - Keen attention to detail
- Highly creative, enthusiastic and
motivated approach - Organized and pro-active, able to work on
projects independently. - Team player with adaptable and pragmatic
approach to work - Excellent IT skills and ability to learn
new programs quickly. - Knowledge of WordPress or similar would be
an advantage. - Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Experience working in an NGO.
- Self-motivated and able to work with
limited supervision. - Ability and willingness to work under
pressure as part of a professional team.
