About Us:
Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is responsible
for bulk purchase of electricity from the generating companies and selling the
electricity in bulk to the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is
also responsible for all exports and imports of electricity to Uganda. UETCL
envisions: “To become a leading strategic business partner in the transmission
and Single Buyer Business and to support sustainable energy development in
Uganda.”

Job Summary: The Managing,
Operations and Maintenance will operate and maintain the Transmission Grid
Assets and Load Dispatch facilities in a safe manner in accordance with
international prudent utility practices.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Energy Dispatch, System Data Acquisition,
System Control and Monitoring. - System Operations and Maintenance of:
substation assets, transmission lines, SCADA System, hardware and software - Power System Protection and Energy
Metering at Grid Supply Interconnection Points. - Ensure transmission of the system
re-investments. - Perform any other duties as may be
assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a University
Degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s Degree or Post graduate
qualification in related field shall be an added advantage. - Professional registration with relevant body.
- A minimum of five years’ experience at a
management level in a reputable organisation. - At least ten years’ experience in power
system control, protection and maintenance activities. - Familiarity with the electricity sector is
added advantage. - A person of high integrity and is
motivated, innovative and result oriented and a committed team player. - Age: Above 35 years
