Laboratory Supervisor
Organization that was established in 1991 as a Medical Institution and HIV/AIDS
Centre of Excellence specializing in Medical Research, Health Care and
Training.
Technologist will mainly be involved in research areas of tuberculosis with or
without related infections. The incumbent will be expected to get familiar with
and participate in all laboratory activities, quality management and
improvement plans, GCLP, GCP, PHS, CAP, and any related QA/QC literature
relevant to the lab, as well as other JCRC activities that pertain to the
laboratory and it’s Quality Management Plan. He/she should be willing to work
extended hours in some cases weekends as may be needed, with minimal
supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out Lab assays according to Standard
Operating Procedure; - Read and follow SOPs, sample reception and
processing assays, PBMC isolation, cold storage, cell culture, cell
sorting, Flow cytometry ELISA, LUMINEX, and other technologies that may be
introduced, sample storage, data entry - Actively participate in Quality
Improvement programs and reagent preparation - Ensure Safe Lab practices, Supplies management
and inventory - Perform any other duties as assigned by
the supervisor.
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Lab Sciences or equivalent - A minimum of two years’ experience in a
reputable medical institution, computer literate - The incumbent should be registered with
the Allied Health Professional’s Council (AHPC) and Vaccinated against
Hepatitis B.
