countries each week.
Responsibilities:
- Takes part in the yearly financial
planning in the country of operation; supports the program team in
preparation of proposal and operational budgets and translation of the
program activities into figures. - Ensures that all staff are aware of the
financial accountabilities; communicates financial expectations and
provides constructive feedback on forecasts
and expenditures. - Ensure timely review of the field office
monthly financial reports and subsequent feedback to ensure timely
submission to Africa Finance Office. - Prepares payroll and monitors salary
advance reimbursements; stays abreast on the latest development in tax and
other related laws in the country. - Regularly monitors financial reports and
project cost reports/invoices against budget and contract requirements. - Performs year-end financial statements,
arranges and ensures their compliance with RTP and donor requirements. - Manages the Logistics functions to ensure
compliance with RTP financial management and procurement procedures.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Right To Play
(RTP) Finance and Administration Officer job opportunity must hold a
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or any
related discipline. - Professional qualifications i.e. CPA, ACCA
or CDA or other related designations - A minimum of four years’ experience in a similar role working in an
accounting, grants and developing budgets - Keen attention to detail and ability to
plan and implement work plan with minimum supervision - Ability to work with large data with
attention to details, work efficiently under tight deadlines /pressure - Ability to work as part of a team with
culturally diverse professional staff - Computer literacy i.e. excellent MS Office
proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Familiarity with accounting software and
proven ability in using financial management software - Knowledge of ACCPAC accounting software is
desired - Exceptional bookkeeping skills
- Previous experience working in
international NGO and managing direct reports is an added advantage
