• Purchase goods, equipment, materials
  and/or other supplies for the construction activities
• The incumbent will evaluate and make
  decisions on prices, deliver, terms and sources of supply in accordance
  with the project specifications
• Negotiate pricing contracts with
  subcontractors and suppliers
• Issue purchase orders for procurement and
  expedition of materials and equipment for jobs
• Ensure compliance to project budgets and
  provide analysis of deviations
• Research new materials for design and cost
  savings
• Formulate and implement new purchasing
  strategies to deliver ongoing cost reductions and process simplification
• Build and maintain relationships with
  subcontractors and suppliers
• Establish and maintain new relationships
  with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure adequate resources for all
  projects and to continually improve pricing and quality of work
• Ensure quality control of construction
  materials
• Forecast upcoming demand
• Maintain supplier information on company
  supplier database
• Manage materials/equipment inventory

• The ideal candidate for the Buyer job
  placement should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or
  Mechanical Engineering or any related field
• At least five years of working experience in
  construction as well as buying experience
• Must have own vehicle (pickup) and be
  prepared to travel
• Excellent communication skills with
  subcontractors, suppliers and clients
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Excellent problem solving abilities and
  experience with complex transactions with little supervision
• Excellent computer skills
