Epidemiology Network (AFENET)
networking alliance and service organization that brings together field
epidemiology training programs (FETPs) across Africa working side by side with
Ministries of Health, regional and international partners. AFENET works to
strengthen epidemiology and disease surveillance capabilities of African
countries that are critical to meeting the requirements of the Integrated
Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) strategy and the International Health
Regulations (IHR).
Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the
Executive Director s Office and serves as a link between the Executive Director
and organization staff and the external.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Executive Director’s office
correspondences in regards to email and other forms of communication; - Prepare materials, documentation for
executive presentations, communication; - Coordinate the arrangement of Board and
sub-committee meetings; - Manage and ensure safety of general management
records; - Quickly respond to queries and requests
from staff, clients and partners; - Coordinate travel arrangements for
executives; - Manage the diary of the Executive
Director; issue invitations, book meetings and manage incoming requests; - The incumbent will also prepare and
disseminate executive meeting minutes; - Follow-up with respective departments on
accomplishment of assignments and deadlines as agreed during management
meetings; - Serve as a key liaison between AFENET and
service providers. - Perform any other duties as may be
directed and as requested by the supervisor.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Secretarial studies,
Administration and or Social Sciences - A minimum of four years’ experience in the
same position in a busy and reputable Organization preferably an NGO
setting is of added advantage - Computer literacy i.e. knowledge of Word
processing and Spreadsheet applications - Knowledge of database would be an added
advantage Other Competences: - Highly motivated, welcomes challenges, has
positive attitude, strong work ethic and works well in teams. - Good records management skills
- Excellent Computer Skills Typing
- Excellent Event Organizing, Planning and
communication skills - Excellent interpersonal and people
management skills
