Uganda. The vision of the UNS-SACCO is to be ‘A leading SACCO promoting
prosperity of members through enhanced savings and access to convenient
credit.’
Job Summary: The Accounts
Officer will primarily manage all financial transactions including income and
expenditure accounts, ensuring accountability, preparing reports in line with
financial regulations.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Guiding on financial decisions of the
    SACCO.
  • Tasked with managing the financial
    resources, including advising on income and expenditure.
  • Offering technical support in the SACCO
    planning and budgeting process.
  • Send to management accountabilities for
    all financial transactions.
  • Providing management with monthly,
    quarterly, and annual financial reports for decision making.
  • Tasked with ensuring that all financial
    records and books of accounts, including bank reconciliation statements
    are regularly updated.
  • Mentoring and supervising staff in the
    section.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the
    SACCO asset register.
  • Ensuring timely payments for goods and
    services provided to the SACCO.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from
    time to time, in relation to the position.
     
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant should preferably hold a
    Bachelor’s degree (with a bias in Accounting).
  • Computer knowledge of Accounting or
    Econometric packages.
  • Membership with either ACCA, CPA or ICSA
    will be an added advantage.
  • At least five years of related working
    experience with a Banking institution or a Microfinance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Analytical skills and ability to write
    concise report,
  • Ability to summarize large amounts of
    information into simple reports,
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
