Job Summary: The Accountant
will be tasked with the proper utilization of all financial resources in the
company for maximum returns to shareholders. The jobholder is entrusted with
capital management issues, business financing and modeling, anti- fraud and
regulation, management and financial reporting.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Tasked with monitoring, controlling and
    reporting on annual budgets in close liaison with the General Manager for
    board approval.
  • Analyze and forecast critical financial
    performance indicators such as loss ratios, management expense ratios,
    reinsurance ratios, debtors ratios, etc.
  • Institute cost controls and be able to
    adequately explain variances between actual figures against budgets / targets.
  • Convey these analyses and recommendations
    to the senior management and the Board for quick decision making.
  • Prepare and submit financial management
    reports as required
  • Ensure prudent and efficient financial
    planning for the company
  • Ensure optimal cash flow planning or
    management and maximize returns on investment of any excess funds
  • Management of credit control process with
    the partner and clients and ensuring debtor days are kept within company
    approved levels and timelines.
  • Actively contribute to strategic planning
    and implement agreed strategies in relation to the finance function
  • Oversee accounting systems and procedures
  • Ensure automated and effective financial
    information systems for the company
  • Ensure statutory audits carried out within
    sef timelines
  • Ensure the system of internal controls is
    effective
  • The incumbent will identify and manage
    financial and related risks
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably
    possess a relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management
  • Professional ACCA or CPA certification
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a
    similar position in the security industry.
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting systems
    and procedures
  • Integrity, Honesty, Fairness and Respect
    for customers, colleagues and supervisors
