Job Title:      Study Nurse (4 Fresher Jobs)

Duty Station:  Mbarara, Uganda
Reports to: Nurse Supervisor
and the Principal Investigator
About US:
Epicentre is a non-government organization created by Medecins Sans
Frontieres (MSF) in 1987 to help improve the quality of its field
interventions. Since 1996, Epicentre has been a World Health Organization (WHO)
collaborating centre for research in epidemiology and response to emerging
diseases. Epicentre’s work hinges around three main activity areas: clinical
research, field epidemiology and training.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Actively
    participate in the informed consent process
  • Carry
    out counselling for voluntary HIV testing on participants enrolled
    onto the study.
  • The
    incumbent will administer Investigational Product following study protocol
    and Standard Operating Procedures and observe participants after
    administration of Investigational Product.
  • Complete
    case report forms and other study documents following study
    Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform
    drug accountability as well as drug requisition and inform the person in
    charge of the main pharmacy.
  • Ensure
    the cleanliness of her/his working station and equipment.
  • Perform any other tasks as required by the
    PI and the MSF Epicentre Director.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The applicant should hold a Diploma in
    Nursing, certificate in counseling will be an added advantage
  • Previous experience working with HIV
    patients
  • Previous experience in clinical research
    preferred
  • Fluent in English and Runyankore, spoken
    and written
  • Personal Competencies:
    Teamwork, flexibility, commitment and service
