Programme Manager
Episcopal Conference based at the Uganda Catholic Secretariat in Nsamba,
Kampala. Its Vision is: “that they may have life and have it in its fullness”
(John 10:10), and mission is “to work towards a peaceful and prosperous society
where social justice, love, solidarity, reconciliation and economic justice
prevails.” Caritas Arua, in cooperation with Cordaid, is preparing a
humanitarian response in the settlements in West Nile, focusing on supporting
the refugees and host communities in a selected area. The programme will target
the sectors of Food Security and WASH, while mainstreaming Protection.
Engineer will be tasked with the implementation of the WASH component of the
programme, covering borehole testing and rehabilitation, installing motorised
water system, constructing permanent latrines for schools and HCs, managing
hygiene promotion activities, supporting erection of household latrines.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should be a registered
civil engineer - At least five years’ experience in design,
construction and procurement of emergency (hygiene) kits, boreholes, water
supply systems, latrines, septic tanks, disposal, hygiene promotion
programmes and other WASH interventions. - Previous exposure and experience with
emergency camp settings is an added advantage - Excellent computer skills
- Possess a valid and clean driver’s licence
- Flexibility to perform different tasks and
outside office hours - Able to work under pressure, not a 9-5
mentality - Good English language skills
