About Us:
The African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) is a not for profit,
networking alliance and service organization that brings together field
epidemiology training programs (FETPs) across Africa working side by side with
Ministries of Health, regional and international partners. AFENET works to
strengthen epidemiology and disease surveillance capabilities of African
countries that are critical to meeting the requirements of the Integrated
Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) strategy and the International Health
Regulations (IHR).
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • In-charge of Security for the Office
    premises and Organization’s property at all time.
  • Charged with knowledge of External hire
    security deployments
  • Conduct daily inspection and surveillance
    of building and Office premises to ensure security of all occupants
  • Responsible for closure and opening of the
    Office premises and ensuring that all is well regarding security of
    premises and property
  • Relate with the external organs in respect
    of security matters
  • Prepare and submit periodical reports and
    inform management on matters of security risks, and recommendations to
    strengthen security both of property and lives of employees while in and
    while out of the premises.
  • Oversee security checks for the staff,
    official visitors and other entrants on entry and or on exit.
  • In charge of detection and assessment of
    any security threat or risk of the organization’s property and occupants
    of the premises and recommendations and relevant communication to all the
    appropriate security measures.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the AFENET
    Security Officer employment opportunity must hold a Diploma in Business
    Administration,  a diploma in Security or other relevant qualifications
  • Security training and proof of prior
    handling and managing Security in a reputable organization
  • Excellent track record of Honesty, Trust
    and diligence
  • Certificate of Good conduct from Ministry
    of Internal Affairs/Interpol
