on poverty alleviation Programs, is registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The
organization implements integrated development approach combining Education,
Health, Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
About BRAC Uganda Scholarship
Program:
The programme delivers to the Scholars holistic financial, psychosocial
and academic support throughout their secondary education. In Uganda, this
eight year programme is extending support to 5,000 Scholars across the country.
The programme was rolled out in 2012 and currently has close to 4000 Scholars
enrolled in 104 top schools while 1100 scholars have successfully completed
their secondary education.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The Regional Coordinator will be tasked
    with managing program implementation as per agreement with MCF
  • Participate in the selection and
    recruitment of scholars
  • Regular follow up on scholars’ academic
    performance and analysis of end of term reports.
  • Organize parents’ support forum at least
    once a year and ensure 100% parents attendance.
  • Organize community service trainings for
    the scholars and workshops for mentor teachers and head teachers
  • Following-up on scholars discipline and
    make sure they take part in leadership and other program activities.
  • Building and maintaining good relations
    with all program stakeholders both within and out of the organization.
  • Reporting and analyzing program
    initiatives, financial management and accountability of all regional
    activities
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The incumbent should preferably hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in Education, development studies or relevant
    humanities.
  • At least four years’ experience in working
    with a multi-cultural environment.
  • Excellent communication, liaison and
    coordination skills.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, inspire and
    establish trust among scholars, parents and mentor teachers
  • Good computer skills (MS office
    proficiency)
  • Excellent report writing and analytical
    skills
  • Ability to work both independently with
    minimal supervision as well as in a team setting
