Job Summary: The Land Rights
Coordinator will effectively deliver on Oxfam’s land rights work. The incumbent
will be responsible for the strategic development and management of land rights’ program as well as serve as the face of Oxfam for all its land rights’ work engagements. 
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The
    jobholder designs and delivers a strong land rights component with impact
    that contributes to the One program in Uganda, seeking synergy with
    all the themes ensuring women’s rights are protected
  • Provides
    thought leadership and leads organised researches and analyses relating to
    the land sector in Uganda to develop a comprehensive understanding
    of its contribution to poverty and Inequality in the country
  • Actively
    contributes to the strategic development and management of the country
    program.
  • Works
    in liaison with the Media & Communications Coordinator to promote
    publicity of the land rights program activities
  • Effectively
    manages allocated budgets and assigned projects and projects officers and
    prepares high quality and timely reports in compliance with donor grant
    and Oxfam requirements,
  • Significantly
    contributes to the overall Oxfam program learning, reviews and such
    other knowledge management processes around land rights and ensures
    effective monitoring for quality delivery of land rights program
  • Builds
    and fosters national & international alliances and networks relating
    to the land rights program internally and externally to encourage a
    joint accountability approach for achieving objectives, enhance sharing,
    programme learning and collaboration among relevant organizations and individuals
  • Supports
    Oxfam partnership selection and management processes through
    appropriate standards and approaches and builds partners’ and
    stakeholders’ capacity to achieve partner led approaches for sustainable
    change in the delivery of the land rights components of Oxfam’s programme
    in Uganda.
  • Participates
    in fundraising activities, through writing proposals, concept notes
    and other necessary activities to secure funding for land rights program
    objectives
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Oxfam Land
    Rights Coordinator job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in
    Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Policy or other related discipline from
    a recognised university;
  • A minimum of five years of project
    management experience preferably within a large development, campaigning
    or humanitarian organization;
  • Broad knowledge and experience of
    implementing land rights programs and initiatives,
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of
    Uganda’s public policy processes
  • Significant experience and knowledge of
    programme development and delivery approaches, Project Cycle Management
    principles and tools
  • Experience working with donors &
    partnerships
  • Good financial and people management
    skills
  • Previous experience in developing advocacy
    and campaign strategies and plans and successfully achieving external
    impact and change, understanding of gender and its dynamics.
