Health Integration to Enhance Health Services in the South West Uganda Project
(RHITES)
Uganda
pediatric HIV/AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment
programs. We are a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS,
working in 15 countries and at 7,000 sites around the world to prevent the
transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. Today,
because of the highly successful work of the Foundation and its partners over
the last 25 years, pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in the United
States and new infections in children have declined by 58% worldwide. EGPAF
Uganda Country program is currently implementing a number of projects in
partnership with various donors.
USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Health Services in the South West
Uganda Project (RHITES) whose aim is to increase the availability,
accessibility and quality of integrated health services including HIV and TB
prevention, care and treatment; maternal, neonatal and child health services;
family planning; nutrition assessment, counseling support; malaria prevention
and treatment and other primary care services.
Officer will be ensuring the timely disbursement of payments to both staff and
suppliers (Vendors)
Responsibilities:
- The Finance officer will also ensure
control over cash and advances and will support timely and accurate
reporting of projects financial and accounting information. - Regularly review payment requests,
invoices and demand notes for completeness, allowability, reasonability
and prepare timely payment request for approval of the country director. - The incumbent will also initiate NBOL and
Checks payments for the approval of the signatories (including preparing
check schedule and NBOL schedule) & ensure that they are properly
delivered & filed appropriately. - Keenly monitor staff advances and ensure
that staffs with unaccounted advances are not given additional advances. - Maintain a payable tracker and produce
monthly payable report for management. - Prepare and file monthly PAYE & NSSF
returns, work on monthly payroll and do cash reconciliations. - Render support in the preparation of
financial reports to donors.
Experience:
- The applicant for the USAID EGPAF RHITES
Project Finance Officer career opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting and or Finance from a reputable Institution with at least
level 2 professional accounting certification. - A minimum of two years’ experience in a
similar position, preferably with a USAID funded agency or nongovernmental
organization. - Previous experience working with Local
Government partners and knowledge of their operations. - Knowledge of local languages will be an
added advantage. - Sound working knowledge on financial
management; - Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent management skills and ability to
attend to detail. - Proven skills in team-work, networking,
facilitation oral and written communication. - Good knowledge & experience in using
Quick Books accounting package. - Willingness to travel to the project
districts up to 60% of the month
