Coordinator – Youth

Assistant-Youth will oversee the implementation of project activities in
assigned projects, locations by working closely with colleagues (volunteers
& staff) and partners
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute project activity
implementation plans; monitor, review and act to manage challenges to
activity implementation; - Prepare activity progress reports;
document good practices and case stories; maintain evidence-based data in
the project for quality reporting.
- Work with project team including Volunteer
Team Leaders and PC-Youth to prepare monthly project activities budgets
e.g. for ICS programme. - Process payments for planned ICS project
activities. Receive accountabilities, proof check and submit to PC-Youth
and finance dept. for approval. Keep well documented records of movement of
funds (Bank records etc.) both soft and hard copies. - Keenly monitor funds movement in the field
and take preventive actions as needed for fund protection.
- Ensure open and constructive
communications between volunteers and staff for quality volunteer
performance. - Ensure policy and rules adherence by
volunteers throughout their placement. - Maintain a log of volunteers’ issues and
support addressing them ASAP. - Work closely with the logistics and HR
teams in Kampala and support with needed work permit documents.
- Ensure all logistical requirements for
volunteers and projects are in place and provide on time support. - Provide timely operations support during
trainings, workshops and other events when required. Proactively engage
with the operations team to address any logistics issues in project
activity delivery. - Support HR team in managing immigration
requirements for volunteers.
Experience:
- The applicant should preferably hold a
degree in a relevant field - Project Implementation:
Experience of co-ordinating, planning and reporting project implementation. - Self-organising Skills: Good
time management; strong organisational ability; self-motivated, ability to
use own initiative; flexibility; sound judgement and the confidence to
take independent action as required; - Communication – Ability to
build productive working relationships.
Excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively with others,
listening, understanding and achieving appropriate results. - Information Technology and Numeracy
-Demonstrably numerate; confident, experienced and accurate when dealing
with financial and other performance information. - Proficient knowledge and experience of
standard Microsoft Office software and internet. - Desirable: Fluency in English
language; confidence in public speaking; experience of working with and in
a volunteering programme; able to undertake extensive travel as required
on the job.
