understanding between Makerere University and The Henry M. Jackson foundation
for Advancement of Military Medicine Inc. of USA (HJF). The primary purpose of
MUWRP is to develop, evaluate and provide interventions to mitigate disease
threats of public health importance to Uganda.
and adolescent health coordinator will steer the designing and implementation
of the pediatric and adolescent health care services. Working closely with the
PMTCT, OVC and care and treatment program coordinators, the incumbent will lead
and develop innovative and evidence based interventions to support effective
service delivery of pediatric and adolescent health care services.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will oversee the planning,
implementation, and evaluation of the pediatric and adolescent health care
services for the MUWRP HIV/AIDS program. - Offer technical assistance and mentorship
to district health teams to support improved implementation of pediatric
and adolescent HIV/AIDS care services particularly linkages into care,
maximizing viral load coverage and viral load suppression - Support continuous quality improvement
activities pertaining to pediatric care and treatment. - Render support in the collection, analysis
and validation of baseline routine program data to support implementation
and routine program monitoring. - Support sites in medical commodity
forecasting and ordering to ensure constant supply of HIV commodities for
pediatric and adolescent care services. - Ensure availability of tools to facilitate
reporting and program monitoring - The jobholder will ensure constant
monitoring and leveraging of resources for program success. - The incumbent will also coordinate with
HTC, PMTCT and OVC technical leads to maximize identification and linkage
of HIV-exposed and positive HIV- infants into care
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Pediatric and
Adolescent Health Coordinator job opportunity should hold a Bachelor of
Medicine and Surgery. Post graduate Diploma in Public Health is an added
advantage. - At least two years of related working
experience with HIV clinical care programs is required. - Candidate must be registered with the
Dental and Medical practitioners council - At least two years’ experience in
managing HIV and opportunistic
infections in children & adolescents - Excellent oral and written communications
skills. - Previous experience in capacity building
and facilitating training and mentoring. - Prior exposure and experience with data
analysis, medical commodity forecasting and use of MOH tools for reporting
and program monitoring
