Manager
organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health
specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems
with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity
Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve
its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory
services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John
Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.
(CDC)/PEPFAR, IDI is implementing comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in the
Kampala region of Uganda under the project: “Accelerating epidemic control in
Kampala region of Uganda through scale up of evidence based and high impact
interventions towards achievement of UNAIDS 90:90:90 targets.”
Officer – VMMC will be responsible for site level data management. He / She
will ensure the complete, accurate and timely filling of data in HMIS tools
and, abstract and enter all data into appropriate software in a timely manner.
They will participate in data analysis and compilation of the required site
specific reports.
Responsibilities:
- Using
the appropriate MoH tools (HMIS), capture SMC clients’ data as required
and ensure that client charts and all related documents are securely filed
at the end of each activity day as required. - Abstract
and input clerical data into the relevant system using appropriate
software packages - Keenly
review data for accuracy and completeness - Actively
participate in analysis and interpretation of data
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Infectious
Diseases Institute (IDI) Data Officer – VMMC job opportunity should
preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree
in Information technology, information systems, computer science,
statistics or any other relevant field. - At
least two years working experience in data management in a health related
field. - Computer
knowledge and skills; Excel, Word, Power Point - Knowledge
of the Health Information Management System - Ability
to work in multidisciplinary teams.
