The Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) is a non-profit HIV
research program that was established in 2002 as a result of a memorandum of
understanding between Makerere University and The Henry M. Jackson foundation
for Advancement of Military Medicine Inc. of USA (HJF). The primary purpose of
MUWRP is to develop, evaluate and provide interventions to mitigate disease
threats of public health importance to Uganda.

Job Summary: The Community
Nurse will oversee the designing and implementation of the community care
delivery models to provide HIV/ AIDS prevention, care and treatment services.
The community nurse will also lead and develop innovative and evidence based
interventions to support effective service delivery of HIV care and treatment
programs through the differentiated service delivery models.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and
evaluation of the differentiated Service delivery Model activities in
compliance with MoH and PEPFAR guidelines policies and procedures. - Provide support in the collection,
analysis and validation of baseline and routine program data to support
implementation and routine program monitoring. - Support DSD sites in medical commodity
forecasting, warehousing and reporting to ensure constant supply of HIV
commodities for patients receiving services at DSD sites. - The jobholder will also ensure
availability of tools to facilitate reporting and program monitoring - Ensure constant monitoring and leveraging
of resources for program success. - Coordinate and monitor CBOs and CDOs
supporting implementation of the DSD program.

Experience:

- The ideal candidate for the Community
Nurse job opportunity should hold a Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery. Public
Health Nursing is an added advantage - At least two years of related working
experience with Public Health programs - The applicant must be registered with the
Allied Health Professional Council - Excellent oral and written communications
skills. - Experienced at capacity building and
facilitating training and mentoring
