The Makerere University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) is a non-profit HIV
research program that was established in 2002 as a result of a memorandum of
understanding between Makerere University and The Henry M. Jackson foundation
for Advancement of Military Medicine Inc. of USA (HJF). The primary purpose of
MUWRP is to develop, evaluate and provide interventions to mitigate disease
threats of public health importance to Uganda.

Job Summary: The Assistant
M&E Officer will support M&E and HMIS field based operations. His/her
main duties will include; support implementation M&E activities for the
MUWRP program, work with the district Biostatisticians and HMIS focal persons
at district level to address data needs, participate in district HMIS
activities such as integrated support supervision, and quarterly HMIS data
review meetings. The incumbent will support the M&E function to ensure all
reports are received in a timely manner and data reviewed to guide program
implementation. The Asst. M&E Officer will support implementation of M&E
data quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities:

- Work in liaison with District HMIS focal
persons to facilitate use of the program and district information systems
– HMIS, EMRs and DHIS2. - Work in liaison with the M&E team to
conduct data quality assurance and perform control checks for
completeness, consistency and accuracy of data before data analysis and
report submission into DHIS2, HIBRIRD and OVC MIS and other MUWRP data
reporting systems. - Actively participate in routine data audits
and verification for data entered in DHIS2, OVC MIS, HIBRID and MUWRP data
management systems. - Support the use of program data for
M&E to guide program implementation. - Provide support in the preparation of
routine M&E reports as required. - Work in liaison with consultants and Teams
as identified by MUWRP to collect data for; PEPFAR related surveys, adhoc
data requests and develop and implement data management/ performance
tracking systems.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Assistant
M&E Officer job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Statistics. - A minimum of two years’ experience
supporting M&E for HIV/AIDS MoH and PEPFAR supported programs. - Excellent report writing skills
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize
tasks within deadlines - Comprehensive knowledge of MOH and MGLSD
M&E processes.
