Diseases Institute (IDI)

organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health
specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems
with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity
Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve
its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory
services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John
Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.
(CDC)/PEPFAR, IDI is implementing comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in the
Kampala region of Uganda under the project: “Accelerating epidemic control in
Kampala region of Uganda through scale up of evidence based and high impact
interventions towards achievement of UNAIDS 90:90:90 targets.”
Data Manager will work with and support data officers in ensuring that all
project information tools are available, up to date and are appropriately used
to capture key project, MoH and PEPFAR indicators.
Responsibilities:
- Primarily
ensure the availability and proper use of updated MoH (HMIS) data
tools in all supported sites in the Kampala-Wakiso Region. - Support
the data officers in ensuring that data is completely and accurately
captured in the appropriate HMIS tools. - Ensure
complete, accurate and timely reporting of data into DHIS2 and
PEPFAR data bases as appropriate. - Support
continuous quality improvement interventions for VMMC in the supported
sites.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Infectious
Diseases Institute (IDI) Assistant Data Manager – VMMC job opportunity
should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information technology, information systems,
computer science, statistics or any other relevant field. - At
least two years working experience in data management in a health care
setting. - Previous
experience with data abstraction and management in a busy research health
care setting will be an added advantage. - Knowledge
and experience with PEPFAR/CDC reporting requirements - Knowledge
of current guidelines in SMC service provision is desirable. - The
ideal candidate must have an innovative mind with great attention
to detail and should be ready to work in a diverse team of health workers. - Good
management and communication skills are essential.
