About US:
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit
organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health
specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems
with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity
Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve
its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory
services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John
Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.
About Project:
IDI is implementing comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in the mid-western
Uganda Districts of Kiboga, Kibaale, Kagadi, Kakumiro, Kyankwanzi, Hoima,
Masindi, Buliisa and Kiryandongo.
Job Summary:  The Field Human Resources Officer will
primarily implement HR actions and administering terms and conditions –
including salary and benefits administration, under the supervision and
guidance of the HR Manager. The HR Officer will also ensure that physical files
of all IDI West Nile staff are properly maintained.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Actively
    participates in staff recruitment processes; screening applications
    ,short-listing candidates ,interviews and other selection processes
  • Take
    part in staff salary administration activities and processes
  • Staff
    / personnel records management
  • Staff
    benefits administration: including leave entitlements, NSSF, Salary
    advances
  • Manage
    the monthly Staff time sheet
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Infectious
    Diseases Institute (IDI) Field Human Resources Officer job placement
    should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
    degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial and Organizational
    Psychology, Social Work and Social Administration or any other social
    science with bias towards in human resource management.
  • A
    minimum of three years’ experience executing human resource duties in a
    busy organization.
  • Previous
    experience in an NGO setting is an added advantage.
  • Ability
    to work with little or no supervision
  • Keen
    attention to detail
  • Broad
    knowledge and understanding of and ability to work with Navision computer
    program
  • Sense
    of fairness and equity in handling staff matters.
