Uganda
now seeks to recruit on behalf of its valued Client in the Agricultural Import
and Export sector.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare export documentation for all
exports from Uganda - Handle Microsoft Office and Asycuda with
expertise and innovation with a bent towards problem solving; ability to
edit documents in all sorts of format. - The jobholder will present the above
prepared documents for authorization and endorsement by the Export
Manager. - Ensure that all contracts are correctly
executed, especially regarding quality, quantity, destination as well as
shipping period / means for all commodities. - The jobholder will also handle issues
surrounding freight accidents or derailments, insurance claims, late
shipments, quality claims and so on. - Prepare and submit weekly buyer’s status
reports and upon approval by the Export Manager, email the same to buyers.
- Provide support in the maintenance of an
orderly, accurate and current filing system for export and related
documents. - Delivery of documents to forwarders as and
when delegated by the Export Manager. - Liaise and keep in touch with DHL and
other couriers to ensure efficient and competitive service. - Maintain good contacts with forwarders and
customs, document issuing bodies to ensure availability of documents all
the time. - Handle all export related work when
required, and also in the absence of the Export Manager. - Perform any other administrative duties as
may be assigned.
Experience:
- The ideal candidate should hold a diploma
or degree in Clearing and Forwarding, Logistics or equivalent - At least two years’ experience working in
imports or exports - Excellent Computer Skills; Microsoft
Office, Asycuda, formatting and editing
- Possess a keen interest to promote the

ability, flexibility, patience and persistence required - Capacity to work in a demanding
environment and a desire to take on challenges
