profit Company under Makerere University. MJAP works to build partnerships and
strengthen health systems to optimally respond to HIV/AIDS, TB and other diseases
of public health importance in Africa.
Program (RHSP) to implement a program on Accelerating HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control
in Masaka region (Gomba, Butambala, Sembabule and Mpigi districts). In
addition, MJAP is anticipating a sub-award grant for accelerating HIV/AIDS
Epidemic Control in Kampala region; under the President’s Emergency Plan for
AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
Officer will primarily review, process and account for all payments according
to the MJAP financial guidelines and approved budgets.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will prepare payment
vouchers and Cheques according to requisitions as per activity budget
lines and petty expenses and record them in books of accounts on daily
basis in line with policy guidelines - Prepare quarterly budgets and requisitions
in accordance with the annual budget and work plan and submit them. - Disburse payments as per activities or
supplies and Provide financial support to petty expenses as they occur and
record them on daily basis in line with the departmental guidelines. - Keenly monitor the transactions between
the bank account and cash book of the organization according to the
accepted accounting procedures. - Prepare and submit monthly financial
reports together with accountabilities to Assistant Accountant in
accordance with the reporting guidelines
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Makerere
University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) Accounts Officer should preferably
hold a Bachelor’s Degree (honors) in Accounting or Business Administration
(Accounting option) and /or professional equivalent of ACCA, CPA. - A
minimum of three (3) years’ relevant working experience in a reputable
organization - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
- Good
analytical skills and organizational skills. - Good
computer skills and knowledge of computer accounting packages
