strengthen health systems to optimally respond to HIV/AIDS, TB and other
diseases of public health importance in Africa.
Program (RHSP) to implement a program on Accelerating HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control
in Masaka region (Gomba, Butambala, Sembabule and Mpigi districts). In
addition, MJAP is anticipating a sub-award grant for accelerating HIV/AIDS
Epidemic Control in Kampala region; under the President’s Emergency Plan for
AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
Responsibilities:
- Coach/Train District QI teams on QI
methods to reflect performance vis a vis the targets. - Offer support to participating districts
to conduct regular performance evaluation and supportive supervision of
facilities following standard procedures. - Coordinate regular review meetings on QI
and learning sessions on QI. - Ensure presence of functional QI teams at
district and facility levels - Support the DHT in training and mentorship
of staff on service guidelines and standard operating procedures - Assist the DHT to conduct regular data
review meetings at the district and facility levels - Support the DHT to conduct regular
performance evaluation and supportive supervision of facilities following
standard procedures
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Makerere
University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) Quality Improvement Officer should
preferably hold a Master’s degree in Public Health or related discipline - Bachelors’ degree in Medicine, Health
Services Management or Statistics - A minimum of three years’ experience in QI
activities in donor funded programs - Broad knowledge of MoH and National
M&E and quality improvement frameworks.• Understanding of Local
Government Structures - Previous experience with QI tools, (HMIS,
OpenMRS, DHIS2 or HIBRID Information Systems) - Knowledge of MER 2.1 PEPFAR indicators
will be an additional advantage ; - Mentoring and coaching skills
- Good team leader
- Willingness to work in a rural area, under
minimal supervision - Excellent Interpersonal and communication
skills
