Leader
contributing to a process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and
improving the quality of Life of persons, families and communities affected by
HIV infection and disease.
HIV/AIDS epidemic control activities through a Health Systems Strengthening
approach in Soroti Region, covering 8 districts of Soroti, Kaberamaido (Cluster
1), Katakwi, Amuria (Cluster 2), Serere, Kumi, Bukedea and Ngora (Ouster 3). In
addition, TASO will be implementing accelerated HIV/AIDS epidemic control activities
through a Health Systems Strengthening approach in Masaka and Kalungu
districts, as a Sub-recipient under the Masaka Region Rakai Health Sciences
Program (RHSP) Consortium funded by PEPFAR through CDC.
will mainly prepare and examine financial records. They will make sure that
records are accurate and that taxes are paid properly and on time. The
Accountant shall perform overviews of the financial operations of the project
at Cluster level in order to help it run efficiently. The Accountant will also
provide technical assistance to the sub-grantees at various levels to ensure
strict adherence to financial regulations; timely retiring of accountabilities
before other disbursements are made.
Responsibilities:
- Examine financial statements to ensure
accuracy and conformity to regulations and donor needs - Ensure that statements and records comply
with laws and regulations - Taxes owed computed, tax returns prepares,
prompt payment of staff; sub-grantees and service providers - Ensure that account books inspected and
accounting systems kept up-to-date - Ensure that all financial records are
organized and maintained - Innovate ways to reduce costs, and ensure
program quality - Provide auditing services for sub-grantees
to ensure compliance with donor requirements
Experience:
- The ideal candidates for the CDC Project
Accountant jobs should hold Bachelor’s degree in Commerce majoring in
Accounting and Finance. - Professional Level II CPA/ ACCA will be an
added advantage - A minimum of two years’ experience in
financial accounting in a busy PEPFAR or USG-funded organization. - Previous experience working in PEPFAR or
USG-funded organizations is highly desirable - Previous exposure and experience in
applications of the NAVISION Accounting Software - Excellent computer skills with proficiency
in MS Excel, MS Word, Power point and MS Outlook
