University Walter Reed Project (MUWRP)
Entry Specialist
research program that was established in 2002 as a result of a memorandum of
understanding between Makerere University and The Henry M. Jackson foundation
for Advancement of Military Medicine Inc. of USA (HJF). The primary purpose of
MUWRP is to develop, evaluate and provide interventions to mitigate disease
threats of public health importance to Uganda.
Records Officer – EMR will work closely with health unit staffs at MUWRP
supported health facilities to ensure continued entry of quality data in source
documents. The incumbent will help update registers, ART cards and other source
documents at the health units.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure HMIS tools are used correctly at
all services points following MOH/PEPFAR standards. - Ensure that all registers are updated.
- Capture Program data- PWP, LTFU, Hub data,
OVC, SMC, Care and treatment data from static and outreach sites into the
MUWRP electronic data bases - The incumbent will ensure compilation of
facility HMIS/PEPFAR report. - Ensure that all data collected from
community based activities is recorded in facility M&E tools. - Send real-time feedback and support to
service points on accuracy, completeness and timeliness of data collected. - Enter Program data into electronic data
bases to support data back and program tracking - Ensure that all medical records are
archived as per SOPs. - Participate in preparations of quarterly
data review meetings - Actively participate in CQI activities.
- The incumbent will also document ANC, ART,
TB, EID and SMC follow-up rates. - Ensure timely delivery of facility CRFs to
the Data Management Centre. - Support facility to develop and implement
SOPs for release of medical records and ensure confidentiality of all
medical records. - Ensure availability and use of up-to-date
HMIS tools and monitor stock levels
Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Medical
Records Officer – EMR job opportunity should hold a Diploma in Records
Management - One year of experience in a health setting
with knowledge of managing medical records data. - Computer applications knowledge is
desirable. - Ability to work with people and work under
pressure. - Willing to work and live in rural
settings. - Able to travel on water
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to communicate in English and
Luganda.
