effective, high-quality indoor residual spraying (IRS) activities in Uganda.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the filing of all financial and
accounting documents, files, and correspondence. - Assist the Finance Manager with compiling
the documentation for the monthly financial reports in accordance with Abt
Associates procedures and policies to be forwarded for final review to the
Finance Manager. - Provides support in recording
expenditures, income, and any other related transactions, in the Abt site
office financial tracking/recording program (currently Quick books). - Assist the Finance Manager to ensure the
books of accounts are up to date at all times, orderly, well kept, and
readily available for reference and audit, when required. - Support the Finance Manager with drafting
official project correspondence and composing routine correspondence to
vendors, bank, partners, etc. - Assist the Finance Manager in the handling
payments at events/workshops, trainings, and other activities. - Support the Finance Manager in compiling
estimates for the monthly cash projections for review by the Finance
Manager. - Supports the Finance Manager in the
implementation of the internal control system and financial procedures
manual of the company. - Maintains a log of VAT vouchers and
submits the vouchers to USAID as required. - Offer any other support to the Finance
Manager as need arises.
Experience:
- The applicants for the USAID IRS Project
Finance Officer job opportunity must hold a Diploma in Accounts or
Business Administration (minimum) or Bachelors Degree in Business,
Accounting or its equivalent. - A minimum of three years of professional
experience in providing accounting, bookkeeping, or administration
assistance. - Previous experience with accounting
software (Quickbooks) is an added advantage. - Excellent computer skills including
knowledge and experience with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel. - Excellent inter-personal communication
skills and excellent organization skills. - Previous exposure and experience with
USAID or other donor funded project and knowledge of FARs and AIDARs is
highly desirable. - English language proficiency is required.
