Hunger (ACF)
over thirty years, ACF has been
implementing Food Security and Livelihoods, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and
Hygiene programs in the Lango, Acholi, West Nile and Karamoja regions in Uganda.
Supervisor will be responsible for planning and implementation of projects
related intensive agriculture, Multi-storey gardening, use of zai pits, fruit
growing, general crop agriculture, Agro-forestry and general farm level Soil
& water conservation, cash for work, VSLAs and IGAs.
Responsibilities:
- The incumbent will actively promote
concepts of agro ecology and climate smart agriculture. - Ensure the coherence of the different
activities of the programs in collaboration with other officers, deputy
program manager or program managers. - Implement all the planned field based
activities in respective areas of project implementation on planned time. - Prepare and submit weekly and monthly
individual work plans.
- Prepare training manuals per thematic
area, and participate in the training of beneficiaries per the project
requirements. - Actively participate in beneficiary
profiling, beneficiary registration, and base line-end line assessments in
FSL activities. - Document and compile reports on project
activities including Monthly & Quarterly donor reports, Action Against
Hunger internal reports (Project Activity Reports (APRs), SITREP) and
activity reports (meetings, and any other activity). - Support the establishment of a database
for all project activities to regularly monitor and evaluate their
activities.
- Ensure that staff/persons under your
supervision (Community based facilitators, demo site leaders) are
effectively engaged in their tasks and perform their duties according to Action
Against Hunger expectation.

Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Action Against
Hunger (ACF) FSL Field Supervisor job opportunity should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s degree (honors) in general Agriculture, Agribusiness,
Agricultural Economics, Agronomy, Agricultural Extension, and Agro Ecology
with one year of continuous experience implementing FSL activities.
Candidates with a Bachelor’s
Degree a development oriented study with proven/verifiable practical
experience in FSL implementation for more than two years shall be
considered. Additionally, a diploma in Agricultural related studies with
at least three years’ practical experience in a successful FSL project in
situations of high malnutrition rates shall be considered. - Previous work in a credible NGO/INGO is
desirable. - Previous work in a supervisory position
will be an added advantage. - Previous work in a refugee setting is
desirable. - Excellent communication skills (written
and oral) in English
