Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The incumbent will oversee the operations
    of the ECHO – funded Education and Child Protection project in Bidibidi
    refugee settlement 0 Ensure coordination with UNHCR and all other actors,
    including operational partners;
  • Prepare detailed planning and reporting of
    project activities;
  • The Project Coordinator will organise
    administrative and financial matters related to project activities
  • Represent FCA regarding ECHO funded
    project as requested particularly in the field;
  • Monitor and evaluate on-going activities
    and report on unmet needs and gaps;
  • Evaluate and mentor the project staff;
  • The incumbent will coordinate and
    supervise project staff in close collaboration with the Humanitarian
    Coordinator;
  • The jobholder will also evaluate the
    project progress and propose improvements if needed;
  • Actively participate to coordination
    meetings as needed;
  • Keenly monitor expenditure, budgets and expenses
    tracking activities for ECHO project;
  • Coordinate for payment of regular
    expenses, payment schedule and instalments to contractors related to the
    project;
  • Prepare and submit project narrative and
    financial reports;
  • Perform any other duties relating to the
    nature of the job as directed by the Humanitarian Coordinator or program
    coordinator
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The ideal candidate for the Finn Church
    Aid (FCA) Project Coordinator job placement should hold a University
    degree or equivalent in Education, Child Protection, Social Sciences,
    SWASA, Development Studies or other closely related fields.
  • At least five years’ experience in working
    with an INGO; min. two of which should be in a Humanitarian program
    related to field operations
  • The applicant must be an accomplished
    education and child protection professional able to blend social practice
    with hands-on education and child protection experience;
  • Previous exposure and experience in
    managing and monitoring the implementation of formal and non-formal
    education projects, Education in Emergency and Child Protection emergency
    interventions.
  • Significant exposure and experience with
    data collection and report writing to institutional donors.
  • Basic understanding of humanitarian
    approaches and standards.
  • Previous experience in networking and
    working with local government, international actors and UN agencies.
  • Flexible and capable of working and living
    in difficult circumstances in a multicultural context
  • Willing to reside in Yumbe and possession
    of a valid driving permit
  • Experience of managing ECHO- funded
    projects will be an added advantage
